Winter Park is just an hour-and-a-half West of Denver in the Rocky Mountains, and has been a popular destination for skiers since the lifts first opened in 1939. Winter Park, Mary Jane and Vasquez Ridge are the resort’s three interconnected peaks, which use the same lift ticket. Many trails have moguls and thus the resort as a whole is more popular among skiers than snowboarders. The resort is home to one of the world’s largest skiing programs for the disabled. Winter Park’s event calendar is full year-round—after ski season comes to a close, the community is a mecca for mountain bikers, golfers and families.
